"Where are you now?"

Image
"WHERE ARE YOU NOW?" On a sunny 2020 morning, exactly June 26 I would say, I left bed before dawn for heading toward the adjoining greenbelt to suck a gush of fresh cool breeze. Before that, I thought about going upstairs to see if my darling fur baby had risen or if he was still enjoying sleep under the open sky. Interruptingly, my mother said, "You just go and come back hurriedly after having a quick run because Billu usually comes downstairs around 07:00 AM after playing and morning stretches." I wanted to check on him, but I figured I'd be back before he wakes up, like he slept late the night before. Finally, I left and made it to Greenland. I started racing. When I was halfway through my first lap, I suddenly felt like Billu called me "Mum". Like he was close by or had some trouble. Abruptly, a strange sense of fear grasped my heart and I straightway started moving back towards home. After I got back, I asked my Mom, "...

"A SONG OF INNOCENCE"

"A SONG OF INNOCENCE"                                           (A SHORT STORY) In a small northern Indian town named Khaamosh, a middle-class household with a nuclear family composed of a father (S), a mother (B), a daughter (R) and a son (G), appears in the frame on an early morning of March, almost two decades back.  After the father's departure to the workplace, the rest of the members B, R and G gazed at one another in silence while relaxing in a small old-fashioned room. They had just finished breakfast featuring a stuffed potato bread (Indian paratha) and a spicy ginger-cardamom tea. Deep within their hearts, they felt awfully contented after this scrumptious meal that was a joint preparation by the mother-daughter duo and they praised God's grace on them. Abruptly, their brown rusty-iron main gate began to shudder ...

" Exchanging Pleasantries"

Image
"Exchanging Pleasantries"   (The image has been downloaded from Google.) Employees: Good Morning, Ma'am! (standing up to receive) Boss: Good Morning, everyone! Please take your seats. I hope you won't release your frustration about being dominated at home here during the meeting. (cheerfully) Employees: Hahaha (a most cordial laugh) Boss: Well, let's begin with today's presentation.   (This image has been downloaded from the fb.) The initial dialog is an example of 'Pleasantry'. Yesterday, while absorbing a few fresh expressions and phrases via Google, I encountered this beautiful word 'Pleasantry'. I always claim to have an extensive vocabulary, however, after bumping into this word, I felt that I was really missing a term that undoubtedly plays a significant role in our routine meetings. Moreover, I do want to acknowledge the role of only a two-letter suffix '-ry' to take the word 'pleasant' t...

What a Mosaic of Greenery!

What A Mosaic Of Greenery! I can't believe what an amazing day was it today! Perhaps after a long time I enjoyed a day outdoors and really got good vibes of the refreshing breeze and intermittent drizzling. Yayyyyyy! As far as I know myself, it's always a sheer merriment for me to be in the bosom of a lush nature. Now I see vividly in the mirror an exceedingly joyous face of mine after adoring a breath of fresh air. Hmm....my simple question is, don't you find some solace in the stunning green culture? I know you would likely respond positively. Well, so would l. And to tell you, to relish my cuppa of green, I visit a neighbourhood verdure quite often.  This awe-inspiring place is none other than Atal Park, which is sandwiched between Sector 8 and Sector 9 in Karnal (a smart city in the heart of Haryana, a northern Indian province).  I wish I could be a regular admirer of this massive, and vast frondesence. Because e very time I step into the realm ...
