The flowchart provided demonstrates the production of bottled and canned carbonated beverages. Overall, it outlines a seamless process that involves numerous indispensable steps as well as elimination stages to dispose of waste, damaged and outdated products.
As a first step, raw material is received and stored. Next, ingredients or materials for syrup formulation and equipment to clean and shape empty bottles and cans are separated. This is followed by two parallel processes in which treated water plays a crucial role. This treated water is supplied simultaneously for the production of syrup and for cleaning glass bottles. Therefore, on the one hand PET bottles are moulded and glass bottles are rinsed and on the other hand syrup with precise ingredients is prepared for soft drinks. In both cases, the wastewater is sent to two different waste receptacles. Afterwards, the rinsed bottles are moved to the filling block and, at the other end, the syrup is directed for pasteurization in order to remove impurities. The syrup spilled during formulation is conveyed to the adjoining cleaning water vessel.
Once the sterilised liquid is ready, it is sent to be filled into the washed bottles and the residuals after pasteurization and the filling process are moved to the cleaning water tank containing the remaining water after washing the bottles. After filling, the next step includes CO2 injection and capping and the water lost during this process is too displaced to the wastewater collector used in the previous step. Side by side, the loss in the form of syrup, underfilled and damaged products is disposed of in a separate bin. Subsequently, capped bottles containing soft drinks go through the packaging process and are stored in the finished goods storage block and eventually sent to vendors. As the finished products are stockpiled and reach for distribution, these are again monitored to discard outdated or damaged products. These unwanted products are dumped in a special bin.
